Extended Sew Oct 2026 after the Guild Meeting. While some may work on a personal

project, we hope a number will be working on purses for Sew Powerful purses.

Sew Powerful is an organization that works toward keeping young women in school with much less disruption.

Find the downloadable pattern on their website if you still need one. Please provide a card with

a personal note to be placed in the purse.

  • • Hopefully you will have remembered that there is a competition between Sept 1st

and 30th whose winner(s) will be those who make (and give) the most Sew

Powerful purses.

  • • Another organization that supports young women’s continued education beyond

primary school is the Malala Fund. Imagine the impact on maternal/baby health,

on general health, on gross national product. Their literature (on-line) refers to it

as Gender Apartheid. On their website, there is a QR code to donate to support

their efforts..
