SCTMQG August 2026 Meeting Notes
21 individuals attended the August Guild Meeting [or 23 with Kate & Nancy - can't remember if I had included them in my count. Who has the notebook to check?] We had 4 visitors, Jen, Andrew, Josephine, and Nomi and are happy to welcome 3 of them as new members Jen, Andrew, and Josephine.
PLEASE NOTE CHANGE to EXTENDED SEW - NOW OCTOBER 10 (not September 12):
The library needs to set up the meeting room starting at noon on the day reserved for the Sept Guild Meeting. The Women's League of voters will hold a special event about the Supreme Court in honor of the 250th anniversary of the country. The extended sew will be after the October Meeting.

This Retreat offers a two-day opportunity to sew all day and sleep at home. 3 seats available for both days; 1 seat for Sunday only. Snacks (snack salad anyone?) can be brought as well as lunch. There is a small fridge. The chairs are very good and have wheels; no need for "retreat feet". ("Retreat feet"? Add-on to legs of chair to allow rolling, usually via an added tennis ball).
At the meeting, Andrea S offered to receive Charity & Fall donations. Thank you!
Current quilt count 9 for Columbus House plus 39 burrito pillowcases for Elizabeth Seton Children's Center and CT Children's. We will give the Guild's 250th Anniversary quilt to Madaras House for female veterans in Bridgeport.
As it's end of Summer, the Fat Quarter Fun ends.
The entire group was thrilled when a small suitcase full of precious fabric was found in a hallway closet.
Art & Nature Challenges will be shared in the October Meeting. Size guidance is ~18" x 18"
Zoom Workshop Sat Nov 7 by Rachel Derstine.
Quilt Con 2027 will be held in Atlanta Feb 25 - 28. Registration opens August 19, 10 am for members; Early Bird Rate available thru Oct 31. In 2028, Quilt Con will move to Phoenix.
