SCtMQG Board Meeting Notes  October 8, 2026

Zoom Meeting

Attended: Kate Lemmers, Tait Michael, Nancy Riggs & Leslie Morgan

Finances:

Subject to Treasurer’s confirmation, Guild dues will remain at $60/pp for 2027 after a short discussion whether to increase to $65/pp.  At $60/pp and with a membership of 52, there will be sufficient funds to cover the basic costs, even anticipating an increased PO Box fee.

Subject to Treasurer’s confirmation, the Guild would like to offer a $500 gift to the Library that has been so helpful to us.  As the library and the Guild have aligned missions and not for profit designation, there is no issue for the 501c3 status.

Kate and Nancy will discuss the guild-appropriate cost for an in-person class with outside instructor.  This info will be shared with Programs.

Proposed 2027 Slate:

President:  Tait Michael

VP:  TBD

Treasurer: Nancy Riggs

Secretary: Leslie Morgan

Nominating Committee for 2027 Board: Brigette Dermott with 2 to 4 additional members pending confirmation.

Membership Committee.  Toni Sand along with Nancy Riggs support as well.

Programs: Lin Elmo, Dawn Fama with the addition of Wendy Frieden

Fall Retreat:  Stef D. with Brenda Phelps in an advisory role

Spring Retreat: Darlene Lang and Andrea Borgelt

Charity: need 2027 team [aren’t there a few new (to the activity) folks managing now?]

Sit & Stitch leader(s):  Robin and/or Dawn?  Need to ask them.

Social Media: Dawn Fama

Website:  Andrea Borgelt

Plan to review all open positions at the upcoming meeting on Saturday, Oct 10.

Discussion:

Website could use more frequent updates and some coordination with social media- ie  birthdays, photos, activities, etc. A bit more attention could be paid to the website to make it more engaging; convince others to join us.  Some updates are missing

Google Drive: discussed best way to secure guild documents while providing appropriate access to committee members. Plan is to organize G-drive into committees and provide heads with access to those folders.

Rachel Derstine class has only 9 signed up; paying for up to 20.  Cost for non-members of the Guild, $60.

Looking forward to Survey results.  Preliminary input – less talking, more sewing.  Maybe in spring, sewing with food….
