Retreat
“Wonderful,” “Fantastic”
We have already reserved a space for next year and there will not be a class co- booked. The location will be the same, May 14 – May 17, 2026, Thursday – Sunday.
Instead of separate person organizing each retreat, the people involved have decided to have one committee to be able to take advantage of efficiencies, sharing of knowledge…
Retreats for 2026:
· Brenda will stay on committee and will lead the planning for Fall retreat.
· Sue will stay on committee and will lead the planning for the Spring retreat.
· Tait is rolling off committee to contribute in a different way.
· West Hartford, CT, will take place on June 14-15, 2025
· Volunteers needed especially to approach vendors to contribute small prizes.
Georgetown Day
· It’s basically a street fair.
· Our first participation; the prep can be used in repeat exposure
· Brenda (thank you, thank you, thank you) loaned a tent so Guild Members were shaded. She knows the people of Georgetown which broke the ice for curious visitors. Available to win:
o One of the Charity quilts. Put tickets in container for desired quilt. Tickets $5 each or 3 for $10.
o Quilt Bait – jelly roll, fat quarters, thread.
o Magic Pillow Case (tortilla approach to make)
· About 100 postcards were picked up by visitors to the booth..
· A brilliant idea, there was a posted sheet that detailed the amounts of fabric, the time involved in making a baby quilt so people appreciate more deeply.
· We plan to apply for a space again next year – January to save spot, pay later.
POP of Color @ the Kellogg Estate July 24 - 27
· There are two shifts still to fill. Please indicate if you are willing & available on the paper circulating.
· Terrie shared that if you’ve applied by now, your quilt will be in the show.
· Brilliant idea suggested: quilt carpool for those who will have trouble dropping off their quilt at the right time. If you need to take advantage of the quilt carpool, please email Kate.
· FYI : Mrs. Frances Osborne Kellogg bequeathed her property to the State of Connecticut; She is also the person who started U.Conn.

Programs
· Committee includes Terrie, Karen, Jen, Kate and Sherry as Tait, Sue and Lynn will step down. Current group meets monthly. Need someone with computer skills.
· Programs will send out a survey in the fall to assess reactions to 2025 programs and find out what members would be interested in.
· Proposed class with
o Mary Cannizzaro (Cannizzaro Creations) to make corded bowls using hand dyed materials. September 13, 3 hr 12-3pm. $30 for the class - $15 due in July to hold your space – and $25 for the kit needed
o Sarah Goer – her current availability is Jan or Mar. Mar probably better to avoid potential bad weather.
BOM – CA Oak Leaf – info on website. Handout of Quilt Block Coloring Page. Cutting Chart included in pattern.
