Babyberry Quilters 43rd Quilt Show “Garden Party” on July 29-31, 2026

2026 Challenge Quilts

A feature of each year’s show is a challenge category for members to create a quilt that best meets the “challenge” guidelines.  The 2026 challenge is to create a wall hanging featuring one of the flowers associated with the maker’s birth month as listed in the Old Farmer’s Almanac:

  • January: Carnation and Snowdrop

  • February: Violet and Primrose

  • March: Daffodil and Jonquil

  • April: Daisy and Sweet Pea

  • May: Lily of the Valley and Hawthorn

  • June: Rose and Honeysuckle

  • July: Larkspur and Water Lily

  • August: Gladiolus and Poppy

  • September: Aster and Morning Glory

  • October: Marigold and Cosmos

  • November: Chrysanthemum

  • December: Narcissus and Holly

Flowers may be a single blossom or several in a bouquet. There may be something else in the piece, such as a vase or tree branch, etc., but the focus should be on the flower(s). Perimeter measurement of quilt should be no more than 100 inches.
