Wood Memorial Library

The Friends of Wood Memorial Library are hosting a Quilts From Our Collection Exhibition. Some of the quilts have not been on public display in decades.  There are five quilts from their collections on display, along with vintage quilting tools, two quilted pillows and several books from their research library. Included in the display is the South Windsor Bicentennial Quilt, finished in 1976, which features scenes and buildings from the town’s past, the Long Hill Missionary Circle’s Penny Square Friendship Quilt, made by squares that were embroidered in the early 1890s by residents of the Long Hill section of town, and an 1894 Crazy Quilt. Online exhibits are available to explore with information about the Bicentenial Quilt and the Long Hill Quilt.
