Guild Business
The Full Board discussed member vs non-member pricing for Guild Events. A decision was taken to add 10 - 20%, depending on cost and never more than 25%, to guild member price for non-members to attend a guild event.
The Board agreed to use a donation provided to the Guild in the Spring to set up a scholarship fund for members to attend Guild Events. Funding was discussed and will be done with non-dues money. More details will be provided as they are worked out.
Up until now, the Guild has not had a “Policy and Procedures” manual. The Board believes one should be written to build consistency into the guild as we grow and move into the future. This is underway.
Treasurer’s Report
This year’s Treasurer is exploring how to report guild financials in a meaningful but concise format. Quarterly updates will be shared with membership showing income and expenses using our current committee structure as categories. Q1 2026 Treasurer’s Report can be found at the end of the Notes.
Balance as of 5/7/2026 $14,536.18
· Fall Retreat Expenditures - $975.95
· Paid $750 for venue
· Paid $225.95 for event insurance
· Upcoming Expense
$4500 for Spring Retreat Venue
Member Cost includes $20pp more than actual venue price per person to cover required event insurance, electrical cords and tape, and some to Goody Bags. Note: next year no purchased goodies.
· Q1 Treasurer’s Report attached at the end of these notes.
Additional policy decisions were:
· There should be budget allocated for quilting for Show and /or Competition quilts. Quilting for charity will not be paid and will be rotated among members who have the facility and bandwidth.
· Change to Bylaws: As officers for the following year are voted on by the membership in December, the budget will be shared in January.
Summer Fun
Summer is right around the corner. Each month this summer, June, July & August, we are going to have a drawing for Fat Quarters (just like the Piece Makers). For each Fat Quarter you bring in, you will receive one raffle ticket. At the end of the meeting, a ticket will be randomly drawn and the person holding that ticket will get all the fat quarters.
