Annual Events

  • Each Guild Member creates a center block of their choice, 12.5 inches by 12.5 inches. They place the block in a container with instructions and fabric (if they choose to). The containers are swapped among participating guild members for the year until all 11 sections have been done. The finished quilt top is returned to the center block creator and the Guild has a show and tell.

  • UFO is an acronym for Un-Finished Objects. As many sewists know, it’s an abbreviated way of saying “sewing stuff that I haven't finished yet”. Some sewist may refer to a UFO as a WIP or Work In Progress. Guild Member selects project and then places into a container with instructions and fabric (if they choose to). The containers are swapped among participating guild members for the year. The finished project is then returned to the creator and the Guild has a show and tell.

  • Each year in the fall the guild heads to a place in the country for a sewing retreat. It is a chance for the members to work on projects, win prizes and share in community.

  • At the end of the year, in December, the Guild meeting is extended for the annual Holiday Potluck and Swap.

Guild member’s bring in fabric, books, patterns, and miscellaneous items to swap - treasures are often found.
